When was the last time Georgetown had a graduate among the Elect? How can it be "cooler" than Chicago, when all of its graduates are among the Great Unwashed? This should be a no-contest election.
OT '07 Ginsburg clerk from Gtown. Then there's one of Alito's first SCOTUS clerks. "Appauling" doesn't keep up with his/her ATL.
Look, clearly prestige doesn't equate to coolness. Otherwise, my alma mater would have destroyed Georgetown in the last round, and we'd just be waiting for our showdown with Yale (also defeated in R1). Chicago has lost much of its luster anyway.
But this is a coolness contest, which is why I'm less than shocked that my school lost last round, but why I'm utterly amazed that Chicago didn't. An anecdote: my acceptance package from Chicago included a copy of the current facebook. This alone was enough to convince me that no amount of scholarship money would make it worth spending three years at this place. Not that HLS was full of hip, beautiful people, but Chicago's student body looked straight out of a dungeons & dragons convention (i.e., the epitome of Uncool).
Someone in their recruiting/marketing department should have been fired.
Even by non-law school standards UVA does okay on the attractiveness front for both sexes. By law school standards it's no contest.
anyone who has to define what he means by "straight out of a dungeons & dragons convention" is, by definition, not cool. and if we're going to get petty about schools, lets at least not pretend that US News has selected all the most relevant criteria in "ranking" schools. i'll trade you one HLS SCOTUS clerk for every Hoya running a NPO and actually helping people.
Surprise Suprise that HLS grads are offended that they didn't rank first.....

University of Chicago Law School, it hurts so good!
It is simply unfair to everyone else to allow UVa to compete in this "contest". You should have given an honorary title to UVa and then let the other law schools compete on an even footing.
we've gotten lots hotter in the last 5 years HLS 04... trust me... and if you don't think so just check out the 06-07 facebook... i'll have you know the ladies and gents are hot enough to tap your manna and make you go all air elemental at the same time
i notice that you graduated in 04-LOL-no wonder you still talk about old timers' stuff like DnD
This chain of posts exemplify why law people suck. I mean, get a life, already. Also, if you are going by hotness, try the fourth tier schools; CalWestern in San Diego is like a model convention.
But, I will say that GULC grads are NOT real Hoyas, Hoya hottie. Separate campuses render that an impossibility. Also, as for "NPO's" and "actually helping people," let's not kid ourselves. A GULC'er will sell her own mother for the cool side of a pillow.
I think the fact that any of us paid any attention to this poll means that none of us are cool.
As for not being a real Hoya, I get to walk from GULC to the Verizon Center where III's boys play. Undergrads have to take a bus. The truth is, all of DC is Hoya country.
