Law Librarian Hotties: Your Male Nominees

law library librarians hot hottest hotties Above the Law legal blog.JPGYesterday we posted the female nominees for America's hottest law librarian. But we know it's the men you really want to see. From an email:

We're all waiting for the male nominees with bated breath. I'm sure there's a Daniel Craig hiding in a row of US Reports somewhere....

We'll let you be the judge. The hot male law librarians are a smaller group than the women. But there are still some impressive contenders in the bunch, despite its modest size.

You can check them out, in all of their masculine-yet-bookish glory, after the jump.

Michael Bird 2 Librarian Above the Law Blog.JPG1. MICHAEL BIRD

Title: Reference Librarian, University of Arizona Law School

Testimonials:

"I would like to submit for consideration for the Law Librarian Hotties contest, my good friend and super-hot Law Librarian friend, Michael Bird. (yes, that's his real name)."

"Michael Bird is currently a reference librarian at the University of Arizona Law School's law library. Mike graduated from the University of Arizona Law School in 2006 and has been a law librarian since. He graduated from Michigan State University after four years in glee club and in an a cappella group (and I like him even though I'm at UMICH!). He was one of my first flames in highschool and has been both a scholar and a gentleman ever since. Plus, he's a love machine. I humbly submit, Michael Bird."

Rick Goheen library librarian Above the Law blog.jpg2. RICK GOHEEN

Title: Associate Director of the Library, St. Thomas School of Law, Minneapolis, MN

Testimonials:

"I humbly nominate Rick Goheen for ATL’s hottest law librarian’s contest."

"Goheen is, for the moment, the Associate Director of the library at St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis (formerly U of Cincinatti law library). See here."

"All I can say by way of testimonial is look at the coif, plus the John Belushi smile!"

Dwight King librarian library Above the Law blog.jpg3. DWIGHT KING

Title: Head of Research Services, Notre Dame Law School

Testimonials:

"Dwight King brings a certain je ne sais quois to the law library -- if his dreamy eyes and soft voice don't captivate you, his superb command of all things Westlaw, Lexis, and Legal Trac will draw you in. This nubian "King" is a marathon runner who bikes to work every day makes the Notre Dame Law Library a friendlier -- and sexier -- place to study. As a Legal Research teacher he has no equal, though you'll never learn anything while you sit and stare."

"Dwight King is not just a scholar and athlete, he's a dedicated family man. Married to his beautiful college sweetheart, he has a son and two daughters. His daughter was even featured in a U2 video -- she has her daddy's looks!"

"Let's recognize Dwight King's contributions to Notre Dame!"

"I nominate Dwight King, Librarian and Head of Research Services at Notre Dame Law School. His picture and credentials are available here."

"Professor King was very much admired by the female law students because of the 'dad' quality he exuded when assisting students with their research assignments. You knew if you went to him, you were going to be OK. It could be because he defies all trends, and wears what seems to be a healthy dose of Old Spice. Super hottie, MLS!"

Wade Krawec 2.JPG4. WADE KRAWEC

Title: Legal Librarian for Dechert's West Coast Offices (Palo Alto, Newport Beach, San Francisco)

Testimonials:

"Wade Krawec deserves to be named America's hottest law librarian, not only because he is objectively HOT, but because he knows Witkin backwards and forwards! That's just plain sexy. Whether we need an obscure text or an update to Chisum on Patent, Wade does it all with a smile on his face. Plus, he lets me keep books from the library in my offices for weeks at a time (always a plus), and when someone else needs the books I have been hoarding, he comes to my office to collect them instead of making me trek back upstairs with all those heavy treatises."

"Wade is my friend and confidant, and, at least once a week, he tells me there is more to law firm life and that I should get out there and explore with no fear! Now, that's an ideal legal librarian!!!!!"

Paul Lomio J Paul Lomio Above the Law Blog.jpg5. J. PAUL LOMIO

Title: Director, Robert Crown Law Library, Stanford Law School.

Testimonials:

"We at Stanford are pleased and proud to nominate J. Paul Lomio, Director of the Robert Crown Law Library at Stanford Law School. As you can tell from his pictures, Paul couldn't be hotter: he's scholarly but passionate--and in good shape from biking to the law school no matter the weather. He's the winner of Law School's Class of 2002 Staff Appreciation Award and we still appreciate him every day. Unfailingly helpful, completely attentive to our needs, wryly funny, impeccably dressed, he's not just a great-looking guy: he's a great human being."

"It is my understanding that Paul Lomio of the Stanford Law Library has been nominated for Law Librarian Hottie of the Year, and I would like to announce the wholehearted support of Professor Alexander's Federal Courts class for his candidacy. The students of the class, more than 40 in number, enthusiastically embrace Paul Lomio as the one and only Law Librarian Hottie! We are working hard to maintain an appropriate focus on Ex parte Young, but it is somewhat of a struggle to pay full attention as we dream of his impending victory."

"Lomio, Lomio, wherefore art thou, Lomio?"

Larry Reeves 1 Fordham Law Librarian Above the Law Blog.jpg6. LARRY REEVES

Title: Adjunct Associate Professor of Law & Coordinator, First-Year Legal Research Program, Fordham Law School.

Testimonials:

"Fordham Law is, quite frankly, a desert in terms of nice men to look at. Lots of ok guys, pleasant guys, but they're all either 22, fratkids, or married and not eye candy, exactly. I myself am grateful every day to be already paired off. However, when Larry arrived it was time to actually seriously enjoy looking around. There were rumors about a "hot librarian" - I couldn't believe it at first... and then I saw Larry. We are all in agreement that he is a
fine, fine specimen. All the gay girls I know also enjoy a peek at Larry, proving his appeal across the board. He brightens up a trip to the misery of the library and the awful lighting in there. Quite frankly, if you can look that good despite the unhealthy yellow uv glow and the stench of sweating, nervous 1Ls in there, then you are seriously hot. He is also extremely nicely built..."

"Testimonial: Um, i think the pic speaks for itself. there are two larry librarians at FU Law, but this larry is well known as 'hot larry.' the other one, not so much. and if it's not obvi enough from the pic, hot larry likes the menz--sad for all the FU law ladies. and sad to all of the FU boys who like boys, larry has a bf."

"He makes students of both sexes swoon. I would write more but I dont really know him but I think he is def the hottest law librarian I have ever seen. And he is gay!"

"Larry is really hot – I have had a crush on him since my first day of law school. Moreover, Larry is really friendly and intelligent."

"If the picture does not say enough, let it be known that Larry is the object of affection of many boys AND girls at Fordham Law School. Luckily his office is on the main floor and has a glass wall so we can stare all day long. Also, he is TALL."

Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but from the few conversations I've had with Larry Reeves, I have to say...not really too much going on behind that "glass wall", if you know what I mean. He's nice enough (if aloof), and certainly spank-worthy (that flightsuit picture alone will give me "material" for weeks), but I don't think "hot" is the word I would use.

If anyone is interested, Dwight King is absolutely jacked. He's definetly the most physically impressive librarian I've ever encountered. He's also exceedingly nice guy. . .

Where the hell was Larry while I was at Fordham?!

Actually, it's probably a good thing he wasn't there. I wouldn't have gotten any studying done. I would have spent too much time gazing upon his hotness.

An interesting coincidence--Larry at Fordham was a librarian at Loyola, LA last year (which Loyola 2L is failing to point out). Maybe that's why L2L is so bitter at the world...he misses his Larry!

Of course Larry Reeves is gay. I had him as my legal research prof last year. He always wore bright pink ties with daisies on them and he talked with a feigned lisp. He also ignored all the flirty girls. Need I say more?

avatar
15 Posted by Loyola 2L | Permalink Thursday, March 1, 2007 1:20 PM

12:13 - meh. Each of these testimonials (male and female) are veritable odes to intelligence, wit, good service, charm, generosity, and can-do spirit. Reeves' testimonials: "he's soooo cute!"; "all the boys and girls have crushes on him!"

Hey anonymous at 12:04 pm You're an asshole. Judging by your comment you've obviously never been "in" with Larry he's such a top notch guy. Larry can smell a fake/catty beeeyotch at 30 paces. I'm sure that's why he wasn't warm to you.

Larry Reeves is a sweetheart, and his 200 other friends residing in West Hollywood, California would agree. His commitment to community service, working of behalf of HIV inflicted individuals. Feeding the homeless on the weekends. Being a Mentor to a kid without a dad, those are just a few of the reasons why we love him.

I have to disagree with the quote in the original post re: a dearth of single, attractive Fordham men. I'm no Larry Reeves, but I am a single, reasonably attractive, straight, non-fratkid, non-married, non-22 year old man. And I hold doors and love cuddling, dammit.

I met Larry Reeves a few times a few years ago. Back then he was a friend of my roommate (who has since moved away). Larry came by the apartment one or two occasions to visit. Later he started dating a old friend for whom I have always had great admiration and respect. Larry struck me as a kind and sincere person, and definitely contest-worthy. He is hot, has a matinee idol handsome quality about him. He gets my vote.
