Our Favorite Skadden Associate Moves On
Remember Jonas Blank? He was the fellow who, while working at Skadden Arps as a summer associate in 2003, sent out this infamous email:
“I'm busy doing jack shit. Went to a nice 2hr sushi lunch today at Sushi Zen. Nice place. Spent the rest of the day typing emails and bullshitting with people. Unfortunately, I actually have work to do — I'm on some corp finance deal, under the global head of corp finance, which means I should really peruse these materials and not be a fuckup...""So yeah, Corporate Love hasn't worn off yet... But just give me time..."
Despite this problematic email, Blank went on to full-time employment at Skadden after graduating from Harvard Law.
After several (no doubt thrilling) years at Skadden, Blank -- accurately described by the New Yorker as "handsome" (see photo) -- is moving on.* As reported by the Skadden Insider blog, next month Blank will be starting work as an associate at Richards, Kibbe & Orbe. We wish him the best of luck.

This guy is ridiculously good-looking. If he's tall, he should be a male model, not a law firm associate.
In person he really looks overly goofy rather than handsome. Though the picture is of him, he is not that good-looking. More dorky than anything else.
He is tall -- at least 6' 2". And good-looking. But not ridiculously good-looking, or model-worthy. And he's kind of a tool. Well-meaning, but a tool.
I think the dorky comes from the fact that he is tall. I always found that his head was too small for his body.
Jiminy Christmas, people.
He doesn't look attractive in this picture.
I interviewed with him when he was back at Skadden and he's actually a super nice guy.

What's the story with Richards, Kibbe & Orbe?
Up-and-coming, well-regarded. A number of lawyers have made the move from Skadden to RKO. Blank is not the first.

What an f---in' prick. How did he get away with sending out an unprofessional, curse-word ridden email. If I did something like that, I'd be booted out of the firm the same day. What a cocky S.O.B. I hope he gets mugged or something.
I usually don't kiss and tell, but I must disclose that Jonas is very awkward-looking in several respects. Certain parts of him are much thicker than they should be, considering their length.
I had several English classes in undergrad w/Mr. Blank. I remember him as always waving his damn hand in the air to spout some pompous comment about the 19th century British novel. The Skadden email scandal couldn't have happened to someone more deserving.
But I vote cute. At least he was several years ago.
