Summer Fashion Poll Results
The results of our summer fashion polls are in (see our original posts here and here), and the message is loud and clear: ATL readers don’t like arms. You gave emphatic thumbs-down to spaghetti-strap tops for women and short-sleeved dress shirts for men.
The latter was the object of much mockery: “i feel like telling the guys who are wearing them to go back to the appliance store and sell some more ovens,” said one commenter.
More discussion and poll results, after the jump.
Here are the results from the tank top and short-sleeved dress shirt polls:
Women were narrowly divided on the question of capri pants. Close to half of you would wear them to work in some circumstances, while the rest of you think they’re best left in the late-90s, or, as one commenter put it: on “old ladies at baby showers in Queens.”
There was no clear consensus on seersucker suits. Only about 20 percent of you would never wear one, and some of you love them (“It is like wearing a small air conditioner,” said one seersucker enthusiast). Others took the view that seersucker is acceptable in certain parts of the country, and with the right accessories (like white bucks). Still others took the opportunity to bash Joakim Noah.
Thanks to everyone who voted!

You roll up your damn long sleeve shirts. You are not a NASA engineer.
IS it gauche to roll up your long sleeved shirts on a hot day when you're in the office? What if you're wearing french cuffs? Inquiring associate needs to know!
Yum! Men wearing french cuffs and cufflinks!!!!
I imagine it takes a lot more education and brainpower to be a NASA engineer than to crunch paper for BigLaw.
10:45... I read in the UK version of GQ (and I trust the English on men's sartorial issues) that there is nothing wrong with rolling up the sleeves on a long sleeve shirt, even if they are French cuffs (which they pretty much all are over here). The key is that you should spend as much time rolling up your sleeves as you would spend picking out the cufflinks. In other words, take the time to fold nicely, and don't literally roll up your sleeves. If they're bunching or sagging, you should re-fold them.
sleeves should be rolled up on hot summer days to show off all of your pretty tattoos.
