Lawsuit of the Day: Some Inspiration for Loyola 2L?
Law schools and lawsuits go together like peanut butter and jelly. When vicious infighting involves lawyers and law students, it’s only a matter of time before someone takes the matter to court. See, e.g., Ave Maria.
But at least Ave Maria is accredited. When the law school in question isn’t even accredited, is it still transfixing in that car-wreck sort of way? Or is it just too pathetic to bear watching?
Read about litigation involving the American Justice School of Law, after the jump.
From the AP:
The students of a private law school have filed a $120 million class action lawsuit against the school’s administration, claiming the school is being mismanaged and that accreditation is unlikely.Students at the American Justice School of Law filed the lawsuit Nov. 17 in U.S. District Court.
The suit claims the school’s top two administrators have engaged in criminal activity that includes racketeering, conspiracy and abuse of their offices “to enrich themselves at the expense of the students.”
If Loyola 2L were the plaintiff, the claim of enrichment would be based on collection of tuition payments. But the allegations here are different:
The suit claims [school officials and shareholders] worked together to delay distribution of student loans for living expenses so they could invest the money and earn interest. It also claims they applied for student loans up to $20,000 without students’ knowledge. The suit says the students are being harmed because they’ve taken out large loans to cover the cost of the school, but that receiving a law degree from the school is remote because it has not been accredited by the American Bar Association.
The school applied for accreditation over the summer but was denied.
If they want to win accreditation, they might want to do something about that name. It can’t help your application if your law school sounds like it should be a program on Fox.
Update: The law school is now defunct and has filed for bankruptcy. See here (item #2).

More proof of anti-christian bias in ABA!!! BOO! Shame on ABA.
More proof of anti-christian bias in ABA!!! BOO! Shame on ABA.
this reeks like a moneytree scam, and my solution is the same: screw the free market... if people are stupid enough to sign up, they need to be protected from themselves.
Next... On American Justice... School of Law... It sounds like somewhere Duffman goes at night.
Is that a real school?
Also, I think we've learned that law schools and peanut butter may not mix that well.
Why would you ever go to a school in KY that wasn't ABA accredited? You can't sit for the bar. Going here in the anticipation that it will be accredited is some of the most wishful thinking I've seen. But that's Paducah, KY for you...
Wow, check out their faculty page. It's amateur hour all the way, complete with corny , disorganized resumes, e.g., "J.D., cum laude, Top 10%, Florida Coastal School of Law, Awards for Excellence in Civil Procedure, Contracts I, Contracts II, and Property." That's Assistan Professor of Law, Radhika Puri, folks.
Wow, the little Asian guy is hot.
I like the girl in the middle's cleavage.
Why on earth would you go to an unaccredited law school?
Anyone feel like shelling out $13K+/semester for an unaccredited school? http://www.ajsl.us/admissions/dspFinancialInfo.cfm has the info. Who the hell is stupid enough to do this? Kentucky should never admit anyone who enrolled here, even if it eventually receives what it needs. The students are all suckers and won't help the Kentucky bar ever.
I'm actually from southern IL in a town very close to Paducah. Never heard of this school, however.
caveat emptor bitch
the dean got his JD from AU!!!! http://www.ajsl.us/faculty/dspFaculty.cfm
lol
3:56, you are talking about Lat, right?
Whoa! Lat monitors these posts pretty religiously. I still say the Hofstra 1L was a troll, and the idiots who 'outed' her were trolls as well.
To keep this on topic, I like AJSL's disclaimer on the main page: "The Law School makes no representation to any applicant that it will be approved by the American Bar Association prior to the graduation of any matriculating student."
There are no guarantees in life, so why would you go here? Just stay at your crappy job in northwest Kantuckee and avoid scams like this.
Asian, White, and Black Girls with Asian Guys!
This school has an inordinate amount of librarians.
cleavage is nice. What else are unaccredited schools good for?
Are the chicks in this ad actual students? Because they're pretty hot for law school, even an unaccredited one.
They seem to have their state accreditation. does this get you anywhere? Can you sit for the Kentucky state bar? So, if not, basically, you might have an easier time getting hired as a docket clerk in county court, or an easier time impressing those Paducah chicks with your JD.
3:51(2), you are correct. I just laughed out loud a half-dozen time at the "faculty" that are listed on the website.
The JD (which can only be given after state accreditation) might look nice and slightly improve your odds of scoring a job/girl, but ABA accreditation is needed to take the bar. If only these people could sit for the bar, they'd all make $200K/year no problem. Alas, they'll have to go back to the Gap.
Check out the personal statement that is required:
"You are required to write a personal statement discussion your interest in being part of a student body characterized by serious intellectual challenge, diversity, and professionalism in law practice. Tell us about your academic and life achievements, qualities of character, recognition, difficulties you have overcome and successes in your past endeavors. Also tell us about your leadership, service, and community activities. Include any of this information and any other information bearing on your ability to succeed in law school and achieve a legal education."
4:11 is right. Approximately 1/3 of the faculty has a "librarian" related title. Did they get some sort of huge grant to build and maintain a law library? Are library facilities so overweighted by USN&WR that they thought building the best law library in the world was their ticket to the first tier? Time to do some reporting, Lat.
Two years after planning for the school began, full State Licensing through the Kentucky Postsecondary Council was obtained within two months after initial application in 2005.
American Justice School of Law, a private, non-denominational, for-profit law school, planned during the years 2003-2004, is a Kentucky General Corporation incorporated on November 17, 2004, and the law school commenced operations in January 2005. The law school is licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Post-Secondary Education Council to offer the academic program leading to conferral of the Juris Doctor Degree, and is an applicant for approval for provisional accreditation by the American Bar Association. Although licensed to offer its academic program, the law school clearly discloses that it will not be approved for accreditation until final approval of its application filed with the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association, and no person should assume that a graduate will be eligible to take any bar association examination until ABA approval is granted.
Pray tell, what is this noise about the Hofstra 1L?
looks like they have field trips? to Real law schools?
http://www.ajsl.us/files/general/AJSL-StudentFacultyLearningCov.pdf
I went to a good school (Ave Maria), so I'm set, but my heart goes out to these people.
http://www.ajsl.us/files/general/AJSL-StudentFacultyLearningCov.pdf
How can any of them file a lawsuit against the school when they're not actually lawyers?! Brilliant strategy.
Seriously, what's with all the librarians? I counted something like 18 of them, along with 2 or 3 IT guys, a janitor and only 4 or so actual professors.
This thing is a trainwreck.
The faculty pictures are priceless.
I think the faculty bios are literally copy-and-paste jobs, straight from the resumes, with source formatting accepted in some cases and rejected in others. I can find no other explanation for the bio layuots. The elementary school where my wife teaches has a better website, a better faculty page and, by the looks of it, a more educated faculty.
"centered around"? They can't even get grammar right in their website?
Seriously, this institutions must be run by National Lampoon's... The website (and particularly the faculty pictures) are horrendously funny. Gold.
PRICELESS
FROM THE AJSL LAW REVIEW PAGE:
American Justice School of Law has chosen to publish its law review on-line as part of its commitment to bringing Kentucky into the Information Age.
American Justice Law Review has a triple mission:
One: To help thinking readers develop a better sense of how legal institutions shape our life today. To further this goal, AJLR both draws on a diverse body of authors -- including, but not limited to -- lawyers, judges, and law professors, and highlights materials about the interaction of life and law.
Two: To help diverse authors reach a wide audience. To further this goal, AJLR publishes on-line, allows authors to retain copyright control over their work, and encourages pre-publication of accepted drafts in suitable venues.
Third: To train law students to edit, write, research, and think about the law. To further this goal, AJLR will convert, as quickly as possible, to a student-edited law review. Currently, final editorial decisions are being made by Faculty Editor-in-Chief Professor Malla Pollack with strong student involvement.
There is no way that TWO Asians are going to this crap school.
Wow 5:01, that's really quite amazing. I don't know where to begin. "One, Two, Third?" Why did they say, "including, without limitation?" Were they worried that if they just said "including," they would be estopped from adding to the list? Idiots.
I was born, grew up in, and applied to law school in Kentucky (wound up going to an out of state school though). 85% of my friends go to law school in Kentucky. I have never heard of this school. Where are their applicants coming from?
LOL@"American Justice School of Law has chosen to publish its law review on-line as part of its commitment to bringing Kentucky into the Information Age."
Good luck with that one . . .
People who attend anything outside of the T14 deserve to be taken advantage of. Anyone who attends AMERICAN JUSTICE should just be shot in the face.
What do you want from a school that claims on its website to be devoted to protecting rights through "human sacrifice"? Is human sacrifice legal in Kentucky?
When I saw "Assistant to Dean," I had to crack up and LOL in the office, thinking of Dwight from The Office.
3:48,
Good one. That's the funniest thing I've read on this site in a while.
Holy, look at Mr. Neely's bio:
retired from Iron Worker’s Local 782; second generation journeyman ironworker for 38 years; veteran of the Paducah, Kentucky National Guard, headquarter company, 1st battalion, 123rd armor, tank mechanic. Held Private Detectives License; experienced Licensed Security Guard; Burns Security Training Program, St. Louis. Kentucky Army National Guard six years, Public Disorder Control Squads. Kentucky State Police training for homeland security; Escort for KY Governor for National Guard tours.
I'll be damned if the parents of IT Director Willie Kerns ain't cousins!
This is as good an opportunity as I will get to post a link to my favorite non-ABA dean - Joe Loser of Nashville Law! Hip-hip Hooray!
http://www.nashvilleschooloflaw.net/deansmessage.aspx
4:06--It is indeed hilarious that the Dean is a graduate of American University. Yet another reason to feel great about my degree. At least this Dean learned something while in school: racketeering students with high tuition and no value. At least this school has a student centered mission statement. As much as WCL advocates for powerless in the world, the school treats students like crap. Cross reference to Dean "Douchebag" Jaffe.
I think the blonde in the pic is kind of cute.
Pulled the complaint off of PACER. This was interesting:

164. Turner’s practice violates students’ rights to a fair and honest grading

165. Turner’s practice corrupts the administrative offices at AJSL.
166. Turner uses the U.S. Mail to solicit students to enroll at AJSL.
167. Turner uses the phone, faxes, e-mail and Internet to solicit students to

Well, at least the IT guy (Kerns) knows "uses of search engines."
Can I add "uses of search engines" to my resume? I can be an IT/tech lawyer with my Google knowledge!
Re: The "students" in the Website Banner Image
For all of you that thought that the website photo had way too much diversity for Paducah, KY, or had students way too attractive for such a school... you're right.
I know the Asian dude featured in the photo... he's an Ivy League grad, does some kind of banking-related stuff in Boston, and models in his spare time.
It's a stock photo.
it seems all the school cares about is whether the tuition check clears the bank......
(that, and a little on the side)
Others have already said it, but if you go to an unaccredited law school, you are essentially taking thousands of dollars and lighting it on fire. While I question the intelligence of anyone who would enroll at one of these holes, the administrators and faculty members should be disbarred/get some jail time for fraud.
Salmon Chase School of Law? That's a well-qualified professor.
what is the value of making vs. not making law review at AMERICAN JUSTICE! School of Law? It seems the alleged misdeeds are pretty trivial.
Also who the fvck would trade blowies for a better grade at the AMERICAN JUSTICE! school of law? that's like given head to a homeless man in exchange for letting him take your money.
making law review at AJSC is the veritable gold medal at the special olympics.
L2L, where u at?
Some states don't require you to attend an accredited law school in order to take the bar exam, like for example, California.
I guess Kyla Ebbers has found her law school.
You haters can hate but you can't make the lovers love it less. Hofstra is practically T5 compared to this shabby joint. Here I come, BigLaw in the City.

Even more entertaining - the picture in the banner is not of Paducah at all, it is actually of Tacoma, WA.
I'M A MEMBER OF THE CLASS! The class-action suit against these idiots, that is. I admit it - I went there the first semester it was open. I enrolled there for a few reasons. To my credit, I had the LSAT score and grades to get in to a number of accredited schools ( Now I'm a 2L at Southern Illinois School of Law, an hour north of Paducah), and I did get a scholarship for all but 5K of my tuition (I didn't stay long enough for them to yank it). And damn right, I want that money back. I had to take all 1L first semester classes over- of course they did not transfer. In addition, some of the stuff I learned at AJSL was totally wrong. I had to relearn everything.
Anyway, I posted about this on a different blog - Read it. Then laugh at my expense. It's worth it to expose the administration at that place.
Here's the link for the post - http://aelr_blog.classcaster.org/blog/general/2007/11/21/finallyjustice_arrives_at_american_justice_school_of_law
9:37 - best find yet. thanks.
The address of the law school is 2000 McCracken Boulevard? You have got to be kidding me.
Is this the best job the #1 in her class at Cardozo can do?
Professor and Reference/Faculty Services Librarian and Liaison, Malla Pollack, J.D. Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, graduated first in her class, Summa Cum Laude, Cardozo Law Review Articles Editor, Jacob Burns Medals: Best Average after 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years, Van Gelder Scholarship, Belkin Scholarship, Louis D. Brandeis Award, Order of the Coif; M.A., Library Science, Queens College, City University of New York, Phi Beta Mu Honor Society; B.A., State University of New York; clerked for U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit judge (now-Supreme Court Associate Justice) Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Numerous Scholarly Publications.
They fired one of their more credible employees "former Circuit Court Judge" by E-MAIL!!
The Assistant Dean graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2003 - which surely quailifies him to be 2nd in command of an entire law school. Also, he has "studies at Oxford" included in his resume. If he actually went there, I am sure it was a study abroad program that did not screen applicants.
Did these students receive some indication that the school would likely become ABA accredited-- otherwise why sue on that point when they knew the school was unaccredited upon entering?
what does this have to do with loyola 2Ls? and which loyola? does the author not realize there are three?
Anon- they promised the first year class that the school would be accredited in a year. Before I became a law student, I did not understand standards for accreditation, how important it is, or how hard it can be to get. The administrators claimed they were members on the accreditation board of Florida Coastal School of Law. This is not the truth, but it is not exactly a lie (Hendrick was interim Dean there ) - however, he was removed because of the way that he wanted to handle the sale of the school, according to what I can figure out.
"studies at oxford" could mean "took some books to a cafe there once."
10:55 - are you new here, or are you pulling Lat's chain?
The deans of this law school have a used car salesman like quality. Sure at first you think that you're getting a good deal, but later on you realize that you have spent a lot of money on something that won't take you very far.
Anthony Fletcher claims that he was "Managing Editor, Harvard Journal on Legislation, Managing Editor, BlackLetter Journal, [and] Articles Editor, Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review;" Is it possible to be the managing editor of two journals and an articles editor at another at Harvard or am I misunderstanding something?
are IT director and receptionist faculty now? I thought this was a parody of a law school website but I cannot believe that this is for real.
why is it that most of what's being said is against the students? seems to me that they are the last to be blamed. unless any of us knows a student personally, it's unlikely we know anything more than what we've read and therefore are in no position to offer anything but condolences for what appears to have been an extremely bad investment.
i'll agree that the students are not the only ones to blame, but the last ones to blame? they should know whether a law school is accredited or not before going, and should know their desired state's policy on letting students at unaccredited law schools take the bar.
if the students state a claim under state law, more power to them. but, if their only claim is that their law degree from an unaccredited law school is worthless, it's a classic case of caveat emptor. the school can't guarantee when or if the ABA will accredit it, and students should have planned accordingly by either choosing to practice in CA and studying hard for the First Year Exam, or by choosing to go to an accredited law school instead.
No, the students are NOT the last to blame. They are enablers and there is simply no excuse.
From their HOMEPAGE:
At American Justice School of Law, the Dean is fully informed as to the Standards and Rules of Procedure for the Approval of Law Schools by the American Bar Association. The Administration and the Dean are determined to devote all necessary resources and in other respects to take all necessary steps to present a program of legal education that will qualify for approval by the American Bar Association. The Law School makes no representation to any applicant that it will be approved by the American Bar Association prior to the graduation of any matriculating student. State Licensing by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education should not be confused with accreditation which is granted by the ABA. Absent of ABA Approval, a graduate may not sit for any bar examination
It should be clear by now that only "Loser"s go to unaccredited law schools.
I am willing to bet a week's salary that the campus is a trailer park.
So, if a school becomes accredited that wasn't previously, are the students who are in their 2L or 3L years considered graduates of an accredited school (since it wasn't accredited during their entire time there). What about students that graduated before they became accredited. Are they now screwed and have to start all over again?
In Atlanta, John Marshall Law School was not accredited until it got probationary accreditation a couple of years ago. Students that graduated from there could only take the Georgia bar (or some state that didn't require graduation from an accredited law school). Can those graduates now (that graduated prior to their obtaining accreditation) sit for the bar exam in other states that do require accreditation?
I blew the dean for a B- in Civ Pro. It was worth it. For him.
Whoever gave out student loans to this place also deserves some blame. The administrators of this place should be indicted and get jail time. If they don't I am opening up my own school of law next year.
I banged my contracts professor and she lowered my grade. What does that say about me?
I think I would give it to Professor Furches for a higher grade!!!
Hey 10:19 - something smells fishy about that "professor's" resume. Assuming she indeed clerked for Ginsburg when she was on the DC Circuit (1980-1993), it is impossible that she was Order of the Coif from Cardozo, since Cardozo has only been awarding that honor since 1999.
http://www.cardozo.yu.edu/life/spring1999/coif/
Oh my gosh this has to be a parody:
"Reference Librarian, Bart Stinson, M.L.S. and extensive legal studies; experienced in library work at schools having ABA-approved law school."
See the end of the faculty page.
legal studies so extensive apparently that they resist any boorish attempt at being condensed into an acronym.
This is what these turds did at Florida Coastal. They are starting these little upstart law schools and then selling them for a mint. Sylvan learning centers now owns FCSL.
In-farking-credible.
If I'm reading the faculty bios right, Jarrod Turner, the "Senior Associate Dean of Students, Academics, Administration, Admissions and Professor of Law" does not actually have a law degree:
"MPA, U. North Carolina, Cum Laude graduate; studies at Oxford College of Law & Univs."
What a wacky place. The faculty has degrees ranging from Harvard to Florida Coastal. WTF???
Yeah, but look at the picture -- so _diverse_!
This is where dropouts from Cooley go to school!
I just got a tuition waiver for $15K to attend AJSL! That means I only have to work another 4 months at Burger King to cover the remaining $10K! Goodbye fries, hello law school!
AMERICAN JUSTICE! to 190?
It seems SOMEONE forgot Rule #5 of their American Justice School of Law learning covenant:
5. I will not fall prey to whining.
I will remember that professional rigor is more than just academic. Life and professionalpractice are a mixture of good and tough times. I will relish the exciting parts and survive the tough parts.
You know a document that manages to pack so many different font types into such a small space has to mean business.
Check out their law review. Maybe they should teach AJSL students the alphabet before moving on to advanced concepts like the law.

Student Loan XPress is the primary lender. Haven't they been in trouble before?
This guy makes me want to use their library:
Director of Library Support and Logistics, Plant & Security, Truman L. Neely, retired from Iron Worker’s Local 782; second generation journeyman ironworker for 38 years; veteran of the Paducah, Kentucky National Guard, headquarter company, 1st battalion, 123rd armor, tank mechanic. Held Private Detectives License; experienced Licensed Security Guard; Burns Security Training Program, St. Louis. Kentucky Army National Guard six years, Public Disorder Control Squads. Kentucky State Police training for homeland security; Escort for KY Governor for National Guard tours.
2:10 PM:
You say the dean is not only experienced but also a professional attorney? Oh yes, those with experience and those who are professional attorneys are INCAPABLE of wrongdoing! Good point. Well, in that case, I agree with you one billion percent!
American Jackass School of Fools includes an all-star cast "including, without limitation" Truman L. Neely, Bart Stinson, Willie Kerns, and Fred Duvall. Please see pics and bios.
"The lawsuit is clearly frivolous, ive read it word for word."
Time to get a hobby . . .
I had meet some of the academic law librarians at American Association Law Libraries annual meetings. They are generally good people.
Among academic law librarians, there are some people specialized in doing this type of work, bring up a law school library to ABA accreditation standard in a timely manner. They then usually moved on to another upstart law school, rinse, repeat. It can be very lucrative.(by academic law librarian standard)
In this case, I don't see the usual suspects among their people. But if they can pull this off, more power to them.
But it seems they have about a dozen librarians with faculty status with equal numbers of other faculties(who mostly have administrative duties). That's pretty lopsided. Most of the teaching most being done by adjunct faculties, but doesn't ABA standard limited the percentage of adjunct faculty?
Although no students indicate a need for shuttle transportation for the approximate six to ten minute drive between the Library Building and the Law School Center, the law school has set up the Student Shuttle Service.
http://www.ajsl.us/library/dspLibraryLocationContactsSSS.cfm
The dean's salary is $160K + Expenses, which may include drugs, hookers, and litigation costs.
Tour the "library" that is 6 miles from the school. huh?

Just got a Law Review subscription request from American Justice this morning.
Hendrick is nuts - fits of rage. Married a student while his wife was dying. This is bad news all around.
I had sex with Willie Kerns
For those of you who have nothing better to do then bash AJSL, you can all go F@*K YOURSELVES!!!

It sure is easy to judge sitting in your seat. You don't know the whole story. But keep on forming opinions from our CLEARLY truthful and always unbiased journalists.
just for one, two, third,3:51, and all of you other judgmental idiots making assertions on matters in which you know nothing about; your mother's are fat and ugly. and your dads are stupid. and i will be back to comment on things about you in which i know nothing about. this will hopefully provide some insight as to why someone would go to AJSL, not that anyone owes anybody on this little message board an explanation. i, and several other students at the school, was accepted to other accredited universities. however, we were promised large scholarships in order to attend AJSL. but these scholarships were taken the following year. mysteriously enough, i was invited to join law review for being in the top 15% of my class, and also lost my scholarship the same semester for not being in the top 30% of my class. the math doesn't add up, does it? the scholarship was the main reason why i, and others chose the school. some people do not have the luxury of mommy and daddy taking care of their bills until they are in their 30's so they can go to an accredited university and type judgmental messages on little message boards like these about things they know absolutely nothing about.

go f*ck your face 3:25 p.m. you sound like you have an inferiority complex in your pants.
3:29 pm - I would like to refer you to a grammer coach. Please contact: 1-800-IMANIDIOT
hello wow. just contacted 1-800-IMANIDIOT and they said i make more money than you and that you are a c*ck sucker. anything else?
4:27 - You should take whatever money you still have after tuition and invest it in a real education. You obviously have yet to attempt this. Enjoy the rest of your life.
I would like to apologize for my last moronic responses. If I can not respond with something at least somewhat intelligent, then I should not respond at all. Once again, my apologies. This issue has been quite stressful, and is becoming somewhat of a touchy topic.
Laugh at those who go to AJSL but remember this the school is under attack from two fronts and the students are pawns in the game. There are those who wish to purchase this school and the students who are worried about acrediadation are being used to help others profit FROM THE FRYING PAN INTO THE FIRE, God Bless Capitalism
Best of luck to those affected
I don't appreciate what has been said about myself, my family, my employer, and my sexual behavior. Look I had a sexual relationship one time with my first cousin like three years ago. No big deal, it's not like we had more than one kid or something. All you haters can take a strap-on up the cornhole.
WTF? Are you actually professionals or just titty babies with nothing better to do than make fun of some young people trying to make a life in Kentucky? Even if I was a dumb*ss for coming to AJSL, I had my reasons. I am very educated and can and will finish at another school. There are already accredited schools accepting some credits (30 hours).
For those of you who seem to have nothing better to do than to bash a school or state that I am sure you have never even visited, especially at all hours of the night, GET A LIFE. Many of the folks associated with this school come from strong undergraduate schools, have other graduate degrees, and are from the beautiful commonwealth of Kentucky. Most of the faculty are dedicated, capable, honest individuals who would flunk your sorry asses out of our school. We all took a risk coming here, but so have thousands of other students who began at non-accredited schools, only to see their schools become accredited. If you attain your J.D. anytime after accreditation, you are entitled to sit for a bar anywhere. The trick is to hold out on finishing your degree before the provisional accreditation is granted. So for the rest of you punks, get back to your studying - it's almost time for finals.
Everyone passing judgment on students from AJSL, while your snuggled up in your comfy lil accredited school - just remember - your school started the same way ours has. Every law school had to start somewhere AND unaccredited. We are not uneducated idiots from redneck towns, in fact, most of us are not even from Kentucky. Many of the students (myself included) were accepted to accredited schools, but for various reasons were unable to attend and chose to come here believing we were being told the truth. That nice posting at the top of the page about accreditation was put on that site after the ABA bitched at the school about it. Many students were either not told about the accreditation issue or if they were told about it, they were assured that accreditation was imminent, b/c the dean's had done it at FCSL. And did anyone from Florida Coastal bother to call and tell us that these jokers were full of shit! Hell no! So don't make judgments based on little if any information. You are suppose to be law students after all - get the facts straight!
I gave head to Jar Rod and only got a B-...Once again, I got fucked and I didn't even get my own office in the library.
Some of you should go to Hollywood. There is a writers strike going on and you will make more money as writers than you will as lawyers. Anyway, there are many reasons why people choose to attend lower ranked (or even unaccredited) law schools. I was accepted at numerous tier 1 schools, but I can't afford to quit working full-time. The only other law school in the area is at SIUC (which does not offer a part-time program). For those who have attended AJSL, or some other low(er) ranked school, getting established will be more difficult but not impossible. Honestly, it depends on one's aspirations. If you want to be a law professor, a judge or work for a big law firm, go to a T14 school. If you don't mind proving yourself, then go anywhere else. Either way, there are truly no guarantees. I know 2 Northwestern grads who had a hard time finding a big money job (both were somewhere in the middle of their graduating class).
They never sent out grades and didn't even give me mine. How messed up is that?
