$2 billion in fees for the plaintiff firms. I wonder what the profits per partner will look like for them. I think it safe to say what the associate bonuses will look like....$50 gift card.

Re: the article about associate loyalty. The article states that loyalty is at an all-time low, as evidenced by the fact that most associates in the US and UK don't expect to be at their firms in 5 years. That fact, however, doesn't mean they aren't loyal. It is more likely evidence that (1) associates see the writing on the wall regarding their partnership prospects, and/or (2) they don't want to continue to work such long hours.
I am at a great firm (a top firm that's pure lockstep and matches compensation without fail), and am very loyal to it, but I don't expect to be there in 5 years. The two alternative reasons for that expectation I mentioned above are in fact my own reasons.

I expect to be at my firm and make partner because I will continue to crush any fellow associate who shows the slightest sign of weekness!

Lat no one cares (all that much) about gov't bonuses. As you can see in the comments they want to know average hours at various offices. Do a post collecting that information. Which agencies are 9 to 5 and which are biglaw hours.
