As a 2L who is only allowed to cite check... Does the EIC have any say in what articles are published? My journal (its no HLR) has other people select the articles.

John Edwards is the most contemptable person in America.

8:55,
That is a well-reasoned and defensible position. Thank you for your insightful contribution this morning.

Neal Boortz was hyping Huma Abedin, and asked his Feb 21 listeners to google the name, since the allegations about her are about as credible as the allegations about Ms. Iseman.

8:55, I second 9:20, except without the sarcasm.

I cringe at the thought of an AG who confuses his own greed and ego with a desire to pursue justice.
Then again, Gonzo was kinda funny.

fortunately, Ted Frank does not seem to have any sort of agenda.
right?

10:03 - right, because trial lawyers are godless moral hethens concerned only with their own financial gain - whereas corporate litigators doing mass tort defense or environmental work are saints and angels

That's "heathens," you moron. Or were you-like Johnny Edwards-just channeling the spirit of a brain damaged baby?

======================
Well, how many corporate litigators do you see running around the country whining about "two Americas", all the while living in a 20,000 square foot mansion and getting $500 haircuts?

On a student-edited journal the EIC (or a designee of hers) should be choosing all of the articles. Journals that are farmed out to law schools by the ABA are different. Student editors on the Tax Lawyer, for example, are really just foremen for a gang of cite-checkers. The ABA tax section force-feeds them articles. But most journals give complete control over content to the elected leadership.

10:09:
Not all trial lawyers are as described, but Edwards certainly seems to be.
Also: when I'm saving my clients oodles in taxes by implementing my bosses' Rube Goldberg structures, I don't pretend that I'm advancing the causes of the "other America." I'm also not bankrupting companies who have done nothing wrong.
