If an asshole is sitting on the metro blabbing on his cellphone I usually go over and sit next to them and have a pretend conversation on mine. Only louder.
A number of years ago I had the opportunity to ask him whether he could agree that certain technological advances couldn't have been foreseen by the founders and aren't there areas where originalism cannot apply? He responded with the example of a defendant being able to face their accuser and the case of a child rape victim being allowed to testfy via closed-circuit television. There is an argument that the founders didn't have closed-circuit television and couldn't have hypothesized a situation where a young victim could testify so that everyone could hear her, but she was shielded from the alleged rapist. But that argument is bogus, Scalia said, because if the founders wanted to allow such a scenario they could have. They could have allowed an accuser to sit behind a woven-rush screen.
Well I thought that was about the silliest thing I'd ever heard.
Could someone explain why Crocs are more likely than other shoes to get stuck in escalators? I would think that without shoelaces they'd be safer?
I'm obviously not a Croc wearer.
Wait- she invented it in '99 and filed the application in 2002? You have to file within a year. Uh oh.
I will give my secretary time off. She's never able to help when I ask, so I'll stop asking.
Uh-oh. My firm is looking to hire a rainmaker. Naughty firm.
Seriously, I thought anythign having to do with rain or showers referred to pee. I feel so sheltered.
That's some sh*t. I just went through a similar process at my firm (minus the miscarriage) and we've just had a slew of departures based on unexpected negative reviews and decisions not to promote.
It's to be expected that the firm doesn't promote as many when their business is in the sh*tter, but it's cruel and unnecessary to use a minor or fabricated associate flaw as the pretext for the decision.
I'm licensed in California, 3:52. Isn't Hastings at least as liberal as Boalt? And more so than Stanford or USC?
That's asinine. Did someone suggset you might have some kind of liability issue? You don't.
I only read ATL for the comments. The site loads slowly. I'm already annoyed at having to click through the jump. I'm too lazy to click yet again to get to the interesting part.
Cut the dreck in the posts and encourage it in the comments.
Re: above-- If I wanted to work I wouldn't be on ATL in the first place.
Could you also do something about the comment not processing? I.e. you draft a comment, click post, and nothing happens. The same morons who are into firsting (and fisting) don't know better than to keep clicking "post."

Woo hoo! None of you bitches took my name! Anonamiss is here.
1:30 did, however, make the comment-I-was-planning-on-leaving unfunny by showing that the judge is not funny, but tasteless.
