really cute. i love that she's using the same colors in her dress for the window.
if it was an "evaluation technique," that's even worse...if she didn't actually want to eat a PB & cucumber wrap (yuck!) and planned on throwing it out.
question - where can i buy this in NYC (preferably somewhere in the Union Square or below area)? i'm sure this is going to sell like hotcakes when it hits the stands, so i want to know where to go beforehand.
where do you live? if you're in nyc, try getting into one of the smaller agencies. open casting calls or something. the photographer i intern with does a lot of test shoots with models for both their book and his, but they're all from legitimate agencies where he has contacts.
another option is try finding a photography student who is also looking to build their portfolio. i'm sure they'd be happy to work with you.
ouch! poor guy. seriously, he should at least get LOTS of free clothes.
hey Jazzi, is the picture here something you put together? where is the hat from?
sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm genuinely curious - why does mens spring '09 show so early? is this only in europe?
for NY fashion week - menswear shows are at the same time as womenswear in September, right?
thanks, guest at 12:28. makes sense now.
my boyfriend has long, dark, thick lashes and i joke with him all the time about his "pretty, pretty eyelashes" and how he must be hiding the mascara somewhere.
but if i saw another dude on the street with lashes like that, i would not automatically assume he was wearing mascara. i would probably only think that if he also had perfectly groomed eyebrows, hair, etc. even so - who cares? if you like it and it looks good on you, keep doing it.
ugh. orange is the one color i will NOT wear. i have naturally jet black hair and have always thought the combo equals halloween. no, thanks.
do you know what kinds of items are going to be towards the $50 end of that? like really simple tops or something?
if you're really going for something like that picture, you probably need professional grade or stage makeup. i don't think this stuff is any more expensive than MAC - http://stores.ebay.com/shrinkle_Makeup_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ3815121QQftidZ2QQtZkm
kryolan is for theater/movies and quite possible for raves. i bought the bright blue aquacolor from that ebay seller (came brand new) and how it works is that you use a damp brush to pretty much paint on your lids watercolor style. you can use an angled or eyeliner brush to do thinner lines in different colors. once it dries, it does NOT budge until you wash it off (so you might not want to wear it in a thunderstorm either). if you're going to wear it in daylight, be prepared for stares and double takes. added bonus if you're into it - glows under blacklight. as far as the cost, just a touch of it spreads all over your lids so it will last a really long time.
i've never used their regular powder shadows which also come in bright colors, but the aquacolors are more intense hues if that's what you're going for. the only other bright shadow i've used is manic panic from trash & vaudeville but the kryolan is better.
Scrabulous was only shut down ON facebook b/c Hasbro came up w/ their own Scrabble application. If you love it and miss it that much, you can still play on the actual Scrabulous site. Just choose a room, have your friend(s) meet you there and set up a game. My boyfriend (who is not on facebook) and I have been doing that for months.
why is Shoshanna for moms? i don't own anything by her but i think a lot of those dresses are fun and young.
can i ask a question? i am just curious - why are you guys so averse to including your face whenever you do these DIYs? i dunno, i just think the headless photos are kind of weird.
or you could get any of these for under half the price: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_2&listing_id=8060558

and lots more if you search "leather passport wallet" or "leather travel wallet" on etsy. (or take out leather if you want fabric)
please DON'T stop posting these! i just wish more of them were paid. also, i know you guys post mostly editorial/PR/marketing internships, but could you also post fashion photography internships if you come across them. thanks!
ohhh, if only this was at a downtown bar.
i have naturally jet black hair so i stay away from orange especially right next to my hair (tops, scarves) b/c it's too halloween-ish for me.

interesting, but i really don't think eco-fashion is going to disappear anytime soon. as global warming and other environmental issues continue to get worse and worse, people are going to be thinking and talking about it more and more (i hope so, anyway) and if anything, there should be more demand for it. what i'd like to see is eco-fashion to become more widespread and more affordable. one small line at target and a few organic cotton pieces at h&m are a good start but it's still not enough.
